Honey vs royal jelly
Both come out of a hive and they are entirely different substances with entirely different purposes. One is stored food; the other is a glandular secretion fed to larvae.
Which to choose
Honey, for eating. Royal jelly is an expensive supplement whose health claims are not supported by clinical evidence and which carries a documented allergy risk. Anyone with asthma or existing allergies should be particularly cautious with it.

Hive products are sold together and frequently marketed together, and royal jelly carries health claims that borrow credibility from honey's more modest evidence base.

Where the difference is overstated
Royal jelly's health claims in their entirety. The fact that it turns a larva into a queen is frequently cited as though it implied something about human consumption. It does not: the mechanism is a developmental switch in an insect, and it has no analogue in human physiology.
