Medical-grade honey vs ordinary antiseptic
Honey has a genuine and regulated role in wound care, and the product involved has almost nothing in common with a jar from a shop.
Which to choose
Medical-grade honey dressings where a clinician has indicated them. Ordinary antiseptic for household first aid. Never use kitchen honey on an open wound: it is not sterile, and the antibacterial activity people have read about depends on dilution and on a product that has been treated to remove spores.
Why these get compared
Honey's antibacterial properties are widely reported, and the leap from that to putting kitchen honey on a wound is the mistake this comparison exists to prevent.

Where the difference is overstated
Honey's antibacterial reputation as it applies to retail jars. The laboratory activity is real, the clinical role for medical-grade product is real, and neither of those makes the jar in the cupboard a wound treatment.
