Stingless bees vs bumblebees
The two social bees that are not honey bees. Both live in colonies, both buzz-pollinate, and one of them dies out completely every autumn — which is the difference everything else follows from.
Which to choose
For a tropical smallholding, stingless bees: they are perennial, they need no annual purchase, and they produce honey alongside the pollination. For a temperate glasshouse, bumblebees, because nothing else will fly at the temperature. The two do not compete for the same job in the same place.
Why these get compared
Both get described as alternatives to the honey bee for pollination, and the two are frequently discussed as if interchangeable. They occupy opposite ends of the temperature range and opposite ends of the colony-lifespan question, so almost no advice transfers.

Where the difference is overstated
Which is the better pollinator. Both outperform honey bees on buzz-pollinated crops and both are limited more by flight range and temperature than by any inherent quality, so the comparison usually resolves to geography.
