A bee that collects pollen from a wide range of unrelated plants.

Definition
Honey bees and most bumblebees are polylectic, which is what makes them manageable and moveable between crops. Generalists have fared better than specialists through habitat change, which is one reason the bees people see most are the ones least in trouble.
