Stingless bee honey routinely exceeds the Codex Alimentarius moisture limit of 20 per cent written for Apis honey, and separate national standards have been developed for it.
Well established across the meliponine literature and reflected in Brazilian and Australian standards work. Moisture typically runs 25 to 30 per cent.
What this does not claim: This says nothing about whether stingless bee honey is better, healthier or more medicinally active than Apis honey. It is a statement about product identity and which specification applies.
