Jujube honey is a blood-nourishing and calming tonic.
Chinese red dates have a long and well-documented place in traditional Chinese medicine as a qi and blood tonic, and the honey made from their flowers has inherited that reputation. It is widely taken in hot water for fatigue, poor sleep and anaemia, and the practice is genuinely long-established.
What this does not claim: This records that the tradition exists, not that it works. The reputation attaches to the fruit rather than to the nectar, there is no clinical evidence that the honey has any of the fruit's claimed properties, and honey of any origin is approximately 80% sugar.
