Hymettus honey was regarded in the classical world as the finest honey available.
Greek and Roman authors including Strabo, Pliny and Horace name Hymettus honey as the standard of excellence. This is a documented historical reputation and is recorded as such. It says nothing about how honey from the mountain today compares with honey from anywhere else.
