Mahua honey
Heavy and molasses-like with a fermented dried-fruit note and a faintly smoky finish — one of the more challenging Indian honeys and among the most distinctive.
महुआ शहद
A dark forest honey from the mahua tree of central India, a species of deep significance to Adivasi communities whose flowers are gathered, dried, eaten and distilled. The honey is heavy and molasses-like, and it comes from forests where honey collection is a major seasonal livelihood alongside the flower harvest itself.

Mahua is one of the most important trees in Adivasi India, supplying food, oil, fodder and liquor. Colonial-era restrictions on mahua distillation were a significant grievance, and the tree's place in central Indian life is difficult to overstate.
