Uruçu honey cannot meet the Codex Alimentarius moisture limit written for Apis mellifera honey, and Brazil has written separate specifications for meliponine honey.
Moisture routinely runs at 25 to 30 per cent against the Codex maximum of 20 per cent. This is a product identity and regulatory fact, well documented in Brazilian food-standards work.
What this does not claim: Nothing here claims stingless bee honey is superior, inferior, or medicinally active. It is a statement about what the product is and which standard applies to it.
